OUR FEES

Fees vary and are dependent upon your referral pathway and on the profession/health provider you have an appointment with.

We are a private clinic and as a consequence, clients can expect to pay and have out of pocket expenses. For standard appointments (50-60 minutes) the out-of-pocket expense is approximately $90.00. If you have a referral from your GP and wish to access your Medicare Rebate, it is a Medicare requirement that your pay the whole amount upfront and following your appointment and payment, our staff are able to lodge your claim directly with Medicare. The out-of-pocket expense is the difference from the cost of service and the Medicare rebate. Please see the appropriate table of fees below.

AFFORDABILITY: Please talk with us if you are struggling as from time-to-time Lumsden Psychology make provisions for “pro bono” work to align with our humble beginnings and regular clients may be eligible for a once off reduced rate or bulk billing service. This is at the discretion of the Director Marguerite in consultation with your treating health professional. We are private small business and do not receive on-going government funding.

DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS:
We bulk-bill (except late cancellation fee).

WORKCOVER & INSURANCE: Appointments under approved WorkCover & Insurance generally have no out of pocket expenses (except for late cancellation fee/failure to attend). claims are covered. However, should your claim be denied or closed and not paid by WorkCover or your Insurance Company, you will be responsible for the cost of the appointment. Please note that due to the extra time required for additional paperwork, these fees are: Mental Health Clinicians: $250/hour and Psychiatry $855 (Initial) and $435 (follow-up) – standard appointments.

NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME (NDIS): We accept NDIS referrals for plan-managed and self-managed and our rates are charged in accordance with NDIS guidelines. Please speak with us about your needs.

Standard Mental Health Clinician Fees are as follows and are dependent on the clinician you see:

Psychology:
$214.41/hour (Toowoomba & Telehealth);
$328.76/hour (Roma face to face appointments);

Social Work:
$193.99/hour (Toowoomba & Telehealth);

Other Professional (Credentialed Mental Health Nurse):
$193.99/hour (Toowoomba & Telehealth);
$271.59/hour (Roma face to face appointments);

Therapy Assistant:
Level 1 (Toowoomba): $56.16/hour
Level 1 (Roma): $78.62/hour
Level 2 (Toowomba): $86.79/hour
Level 2 (Roma): $121.51/hour

REQUESTS FOR REPORTS/MEETINGS:
Mental Health Clinicians $300/hour;
Psychiatrist $450/hour;

Please note we generally DO NOT PROVIDE LEGAL REPORTS as clients sign to say they are seeking treatment for their personal mental health benefit and we are not a Forensic Therapy service.

REQUESTS FOR COPIES OF FILES:
Standard Fee: $250.00 +$1.00 per page + GST
NB: Files are not released as standard practice due to confidentiality provisions and will only be released with your expressed written informed consent following a review and discussion with your health professional.

LATE CANCELLATION / FAILURE TO ATTEND: We require 24 business hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel your appointment without financial penalty. ALL appointments (including FUNDED sessions and DVA sessions) attract a late cancellation/failure to attend fee of $110. NDIS late cancellation fees will be charged at full fees as per the national guidelines.

Late cancellation and failure to attend fees are NOT covered under Medicare or DVA or FUNDING and is the RESPONSIBILITY of the CLIENT. Whilst we understand that emergencies happen, the late cancellation fee / failure to attend applies. You are booking the Mental Health Clinicians’ time, and out of respect for your Mental Health Clinician and other clients, please be mindful to keep your appointment to avoid any late cancellation fees. If you are unwell, we do ask that you do not attend the office, and are able in most circumstances, to offer you an alternative telehealth appointment.

PSYCHOLOGIST: Standard Private Appointment (50+ minutes) $185

AMH SOCIAL WORKER: Standard Private Appointment (50+) $175

MENTAL HEALTH NURSE: Standard Therapy Appoint (50+) $175

MENTAL HEALTH NURSE: Standard Check-Up Appoint (25min) $75

PSYCHIATRIST: Standard Private Appointment (45-60 mins) $255. Whilst your INTITAL appointment will be bulk-billed you can expect to pay at your subsequent appointments and have out of pocket expenses.

The first four sessions need to be booked in a short space of time (within a week if possible). No more than four sessions to be booked initially. Following the fourth further couple sessions can be booked.
