Meet our Therapy Herd, and the stars of our unique program, Mindful Mooments.
Connecting with nature is strongly encouraged by the team at Lumsden Psychology and has many well documented psychological and physiological health benefits. The simple act of patting an animal activates the automatic relaxation response to reduce stress. Walking slowly or mindfully through the bush is referred to as Forrest Bathing by the Japanese and has well documented health benefits . Our Therapy Herd are often used as an adjunct to psychotherapy which utilise a combination of connection with animals and a connection with nature to improve clients wellbeing and assist them in achieving their therapeutic goals. If you would like to know more, or are interested in participating, please speak with your Psychologist about your specific needs and the appropriateness of this.
